McDonald’s Starts Rollout of Fresh Beef Quarter-Pound Burgers, Wendy's Savagely Responds

March 7, 2018

Burger giant McDonald's has announced that they will be replacing their frozen quarter-pound patties with fresh ones.

“The switch to fresh beef quarter-pound burgers is the most significant change to our system and restaurant operations since All Day Breakfast,” said McDonald’s USA President Chris Kempczinski in a statement. “Over the past two years, we have been listening to our customers and evolving our business to build a better McDonald’s. We are proud to bring our customers a hotter and juicier quarter-pound burger at the speed and convenience they expect from us.”

Over the next few months, the fresh beef patties will start to roll out with the goal of a complete turnover in the continental United State by the end of May 2018. They will be available on the Quarter Pounder, Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Double Quarter Pounder, and Signature Crafted Recipe burgers.

In response, Wendy's took to Twitter to ask, "What about the Big Mac?"
