This year, Outside Lands is yet again playing with its food, but this time it involves more bacon.
“GastroMagic”, a new stage at McLaren Pass, will present food and drink, but with a caveat: it won’t just be your average dining area. GastroMagic’s stage will feature local chefs, comedians, and musicians coming together in the name of food.
Events at the stage will be themed too. On Friday for example, you can catch Holy Ghost! spin some tunes while Donald Wressell of Guittard Chocolate creates something epic on stage. On Saturday, New Orleans’ Big Freedia will unite with Brenda’s French Soul Food for the Beignets and Bounce Brunch (wherein twerkers will be awarded free beignets). A little later Lewis Black, Dave McLean, Paul Grieco, Andie Ferman & Southpaw BBQ will host BBQ & Drank, in which Black will decide which alcohol (between bourbon, beer or wine) pairs best with Southpaw’s dishes. On Sunday, you can learn about and sip on mezcal while watching mambo dancers getting down accompanied by a limbo contest.
Oh, and this area will also feature something wonderful and mysterious called “BaconLand” which will reportedly serve flights of bacon. FLIGHTS OF BACON.
