This week I, along with the entire music biz, hundreds of bands, managers, bloggers, djs, tech startups, radio programmers, press, A&R executives looking for new talent, producers, booking agents, film/TV music supervisors, etc, all make our annual pilgrimage to the city of Austin, Texas for the crown jewel of music conventions: South By Southwest (SXSW). It’s a bit overwhelming with dozens of daily options, day parties hosted by the likes of Pitchfork, Spin, Filter, Fader, Dickies, MTV, Hype Machine, Vice, Vans, Dr. Martens, et al, and nightly artist showcases and after parties that take you into the wee hours of the morning, but I’ve gone through the sea of schedules and invites to come up with my TOP 10 MUST SEE SXSW ARTISTS this week.
