Our friends in L.A. are on site all weekend covering the Coachella Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California. Stay tuned right here for the latest news, reviews, photos, and videos!

No one would ever imagine that 7-piece Irish-American Celtic/ righteous punk band,[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”] Flogging Molly[/lastfm], is from Los Angeles, but the raucous lads brought a super-fun set to our Coachella House–pool side, with green rum cocktails, tacos and awesome accordion.

Dublin-born lead singer Dave King lists musical artists like [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Joe Strummer[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Johnny Cash[/lastfm], and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Freddie Mercury[/lastfm] as musical influence and it’s easily clear from their punk rock theatrics and King’s smart lyricism.

One thing is certain: Flogging Molly makes everyone in the audience want to dance…even if they don’t normally like Celtic-infused punk rock.

Ripping through “Saints and Sinners,” “Don’t Shut ‘Em Down” lyrics like ”Cause living is hard through the struggles of life/If nothing gets done it will never be right,” seemed totally misplaced in an environment where no one seemingly had to worry about the struggles of life of getting anything right.
